I decided to open it up this weekend and give the stuff a try. </p> <p> My first painting didn't come out so great (it's linked from my Twitter feed if you want to find it), but after trying again with a new drawing, I feel a bit better. It's not perfect, and looks sloppier than my digital works, but this one's a decent starting point. </p> <p> Acrylic on paper, which started to curl once the paint began to dry near the corners. Since the last time I worked in this medium was grade school, it took a bit to get used to, and I still need to work around some problems. </p>

Coloured in with markers and a bit of coloured pencil, though some of those colours are out of gamut. The rest of this image has been adjusted to compensate for that. </p>
