It's that time of year — baseball season is upon us. And it looks like
RK is set to play for his hometown Blue Jays; he'll probably end up	watching
from the stands, though, seeing he's not that good at baseball, and
that he'd have to change numbers.

For something I was planning to do quick, this sure took a while - way too
many distractions this weekend. So here is the finished product, as a rather
plain baseball-themed badge.

The original plan was to make a template to speed things along for other
characters and teams, with an eye to making these available as cheap
commissions. On that note, I'm wondering if I should go ahead — while
I'm sure there are a few baseball furs, I have to wonder how many will see
my announcement. Might just go ahead anyways (or not and move to another
design or drawing idea).

Seems like this squirrel's just way too tired. Perhaps she should go lie
down for the evening.

While sitting around last week, I had the idea for what I thought would be a
creative partial fursuit design — a gopher (i.e. furry convention
volunteer) that was simply exhausted (or looked and acted that way). For
bonus points, I figured I'd use an animal closely related to the gopher - the
ground squirrel.

And so, here I've taken the design of a previous (but mostly unused) character
I had created, Sylvia the squirrel, and adapted her into this ref sheet.
Constant panting, droopy bloodshot eyes, generally dazed stature…

So, how well does it work? (And does it seem like a good fursuit idea?)

Here's a character I haven't drawn in a while, and he probably looks a bit
different from the last time. I felt I needed something a bit more summery in
my gallery, and a fur licking a popsicle works quite well for that.

Done entirely digitally, I decided to use my own body to help get the pose
right, tracing the result (of course, changing from human to canine in the
process). That's a large contributor to why RK looks different; the flat
shading seems to fit the image rather well.

Decided to play with coloured pencils for the first time in a while; the

I streamed this piece over the internet, which I seem to be doing with a lot

A puppy (not RK this time, an anonymous yellow lab) tries to play fetch with
a blue jay on a nice day. Baseball season is here.

The sleuths among you might recognize that the Blue Jays are Toronto's
baseball (they play in the AL East, along with the Yankees, Red Sox, Rays and
Orioles). The pic here is a play on their theme song chorus (appearing
during the seventh inning stretch): "OK Blue Jays / Let's Play Ball!".

I decided to paint this one for a change... Seem to be getting the hang of
it in parts, but looks like I'll need a bit more practice before I'll make it
look as good as my digital works (which also get proper shadows on them).
